Vo2max

One of the strongest indicators of longevity. Measures cardiorespiratory fitness.

€29545min

What it is

  • A maximal exercise test on a treadmill or bike. You wear a mask that measures the oxygen you use while the intensity gradually increases.

What it does

Measures your VO2max and how your cardiovascular system responds to exercise. You also see how your fitness changes across different exercise intensities.

Why it matters

VO2max is one of the strongest measures of cardiorespiratory fitness and is strongly associated with long term health and physical performance. It gives you a real baseline instead of an estimate from a wearable.

How it works

  1. 01

    Step 1

    Warm-up and calibration.

  2. 02

    Step 2

Graded exercise test on treadmill or bike until volitional exhaustion.

  3. 03

    Step 3

    Personalised training zones and debrief.

How to prepare

  • Come rested and normally hydrated. No alcohol for 24 hours. No hard training the day before. Avoid heavy leg training for 48 hours. Finish your last large meal around 4 hours before the test. Bring running shoes or cycling shoes if you prefer to use them. Includes a cardiological risk assessment and plaque buildup measurements.

FAQs

  • How is this different from my Garmin/Apple Watch/Whoop Vo2max?Open +

Wearables estimate Vo2max from indirect variables. Your test directly measures oxygen consumption and CO2 production during maximal exercise, which is the laboratory standard.
